CORPUS CHRISTI — Lawmakers on Thursday adopted a resolution establishing an interim committee to study the economic impact of bringing cruise ships to South Texas ports. Senate Concurrent Resolution 5, authored by Sen. Juan “Chuy” Hinojosa, D-McAllen, and sponsored in the House by Rep. Todd Hunter, R-Corpus Christi, establishes a Senate committee that will interview experts, gather data and talk to voters and local leaders between legislative sessions.{read more}
